Donal,
If this Austrian gets out of hand we will know. That will be when a Brit Leader meets with him and announces "PEACE IN OUR TIME!" That will be the tipoff that we will have to start the convoy systems going to keep England fed. Time to get the small boat owners ready to rescue the British Army Huddled on the Beach with no where to go because the great intelligent Brits never provided the transport before hand Don't worry if we get attacked in the Pacific, we'll go the war in Europe to save your "SMART ASSES" Don't worry about your own military defense. We'll keep NATO active while the EU continues to talk and building their own for another 50 or 60 yrs Us stupid Yanks will have to study the intelligent ways of our good smart friends across the "POND" AND; "I'LL DRINK TO THAT!!" That will be when a Brit Leader meets with him and announces "PEACE IN OUR TIME!" Fair point! However, I'm sure that you will be happy to tell us the date of the famous "Peace in our time" statement --- and also the date that the US entered WWII. That will be the tipoff that we will have to start the convoy systems going to keep England fed. That was a great effort! There is no dispute about this! Time to get the small boat owners ready to rescue the British Army Huddled on the Beach with no where to go because the great intelligent Brits never provided the transport before hand Hindsight is a great gift. Today, we see the same thinking..... It's all about "perceived" tax cuts! Politicians tell us what they want us to hear. Bush, and Bliar, told us that Iraq was a threat to our national security. Strangely, Bush used this "threat" to bolster defence spending, whilst Bliar cut UK defence spending. AND; "I'LL DRINK TO THAT!!" We'll drink together, Thom! Regards Donal -- |

Sure Donal,
Peace in our time was said just after Adofl went into Austria and before England went to War. U.S. went to war 12/7/41 Now,Donal, Maybe you would like to give the group a list of the Battles that the Brits won in that time? Your refernce was a Joke? At whose expense? OT |

If the British had lost, then the outcome of the American war with Japan could have turned out very differently. Your refernce was a Joke? At whose expense? The Californian electorate. Donal,
The "Battle of Britain" was a very glorious defence battle! England took one hell of a beating and kept on Ticking but it was a defensive action. El Al in North Africa was also a great defensive victory. I had in mind offensive actions against the Axis powers by the British from the time of "Peace in our Time" until 12/7/41. You must remember that England and France declared war on Germany. That was when Poland was invaded and went on the defense until the USA invaded Casablanca. Now, Donal, I've just responded to comments about the election of an Austrian being elected Gov. of Calif. and the comment by a American Baiter's comparison to Adolf. I just wanted to remind him of his own history of the Hitler years. It seems that the baiters don't like to be reminded of their own history in the same kind of comments they make I, myself, think Arnold just might be the right man at the right time for Calif. I'm not a Californian but what better a Legal immigrant to set rules for a State overloaded with illegals. What better a Conservative to make the owners of those Corp Farms that hire the illegals then turn them over to the State Welfare System to straighten out the abuse; But whom the hell am I? I'm an American who believe we won the war for the Europeans, won the war in the Pacific for the people that were colonies of the European Countries that were deserted by their homelands, an American taxpayer who helped refianced the world thru the Marshall plan and Truman Doctrine, a follower GWB, who didn't vote for him but is my President ( Just for another year, I hope!) AND; "I'LL DRINK TO THAT!" and get off this damned soap box!! Ole Thom |

What's the difference between a defensive and an offensive battle? England didn't take one hell of a beating, they defeated the Germans in the battle for air supremacy. El Al in North Africa was also a great defensive victory. I had in mind offensive actions against the Axis powers by the British from the time of "Peace in our Time" until 12/7/41. It seems that the baiters don't like to be reminded of their own history in the same kind of comments they make I, myself, think Arnold just might be the right man at the right time for Calif. The political cartoonists are having a field day all over the world I'm an American who believe we won the war for the Europeans, So you think that the Russians didn't need to bother losing 10 (or was it 20?) million soldiers in their battles against Hitler?? won the war in the Pacific for the people that were colonies of the European Countries that were deserted by their homelands, an American taxpayer who helped refianced the world thru the Marshall plan and Truman Doctrine, a follower GWB, who didn't vote for him but is my President ( Just for another year, I hope!) Do you still believe that GWB told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth about Iraq? Regards Donal -- |

He was handed that lie from British Intelligence (?) No. I never believed he would go to war. He was winning just about everything he wanted by influence in the Security Council |

I'm not talking about Russia. They were fighters. They were also SMART
enough to move their production capacity out of range of the German Bomberrs. Even Stalin told Churchill that the "Germans can be beat, all you have to do is fight them." OT P/S Only a Limey would ask the difference between a Defensive Battle and a Offensive Battle!!! |

Donal,
"Are you suggesting that there was something for the British to be ashamed of?" What in the world would make you ask a question like that? OT |
