I have, unfotunately...it is the most desperate heart-rending sound i =
have ever heard...a wild rabbit got into our garage and ran behind a =
heavy shovel which fell over and sliced into its head...I had to finish =
the job and then went out and upchucked...Neal would probably have let =
it live screaming....

I would have grabbed it in a towel, administered a good slug of rum,
sewed up the wound and slavered it with alum and Neosporin.

Then I would have put the little critter in a dark box and given it some
water and maybe a tender carrot. I would have checked it the next
day and let it go if it looked well enough.

Half its' head was sliced off...the only kind thing to do was to kill =
it. even if it could have survived, it would have been partially blind =
and the smell of blood on it would have made it someone's dinner much =
sooner than later...
