Neal,
I'm not knocking your sails. It is just that you have to be careful with the corner of those sail. This time you do have a proper shelf. You get no help with the foot in the boom. If you don't have an outhaul car, you should. I don't think much of the stress of the clew just on a single slug. Remember, the attachment of your sail's foot is only at the tack and the leech clews. Thanks Thom but I don't need no stinkin' car. I have a block and
tackle that pulls the sail back (outhaul) and the sliding slug is plenty strong enough to hold the clew down and to the boom. S.Simon "Thom Stewart" wrote in message ...
