Ground effects craft are an up and comming conveyance. There are
plans for all sorts of craft both commercial and private that will fly in grounds effects above the surface of the water but will not be able to fly at altitudes out of the ground effects because of their design. This class of vessels is really not an airplane and really not a boat thus the new designation. Can you imagine the horror of these things flying along at 100 miles an hour five or six feet above the water. It's gonna be scarey folks! S.Simon "otnmbrd" wrote in message link.net... I'm assuming they are referring to the type craft (extensively developed in the old USSR) which DO have a wing of sorts. Thom Stewart wrote: Simple, If you could, Kind Sir, please explain the mentality that changed the name of a Ground Effect Craft to a "Wing-in- Ground" Most of the Ground Effect Craft don't even have a wing. Those that do have wings, certainly don't have them touching the ground or in the ground! Why the Hell do they do that? Then have to include a write up of what is a "WIG" is in the ruless STUPID, STUPID. STUPID AND; "I'LL, DAMN WELL, DRINK TO THAT!!!!" Ole Thom |
