OK Doug King,

Where the Hell are you? Did you make it up to Isabel? Did you find a
Hole?

The Ole Man is wating one you. You're the last member to check in.

The Float Plan you gave me put you in "Harm's Way" I know I still
probably have a couple of weeks. I'm waiting for you!

I wish you'd stop bringing up DSK. I enjoy the group much
more with him gone. As far as being in "harm's way" DSK is
so inept that he's in harm's way every time he ventures forth
from the dock (or his front door for that matter).

The man's a pretender and a loser. They don't come much
more liberal than Doug. Stop pining after him. You're beginning
to sound like a gayboy.

Get off my case, Simple!

Even is you were missing, I'd check up on you. If you care to think
back, I've already done that.

It's not my fault that YOU missed the path of Isabel so badly. Don't use
me to get our other member minds off your monumental blunder. I do mean
BLUNDER as in F^K. UP.

Doug may just have wandered into Isabel by listening to your many
mistaken post about about the Northern Course of the '''cane while it
was still at sea

By the way, Simple, by your definition of Horse Power, I guess that
selltes the status of "Pneuma," She is a true Aux Sailboat. Just like
Banana with the exception of having a properly mounted Aux. Engine

By the way, by the way. The performace curve for my boat is better than
the curve I got when she was new with new UK sails. Thats for wind of 5
knts and 9knts. Looks like 14 knts are going to be better also. I really
couldn't get a decent read out hard on the wind. I did get up to 37
degrees before I noticed leeway but I should have another observer.
Hitting 12.5 knts at a 128 degree heading off the wind.

The Free footed Main has earned the right to be my main.

Hope your new sails are as good for you. Do you have a previous
performance curve? I guess it really doesn't matter but it was nice to
have something to check against.

Ole Thom,

Why should I git off your case? It seems you've been hanging
around them old biddies agin and are beginning to act like 'em
with your worrywort attitude. Why one would think DSK was your
lover or something. We've got plenty enough fags in this group already
what with Billy Jane, Jeff Morris, Bobsprit, Navigator, Oz1, otnmbrd,
Donal and Loco without you aswelling (no pun intended) their ranks.

I don't need nor do I want anybody a'checking up on me. When I go
sailing I NEVER file a float plan. That's for wimps and pussies. Real
sailors are self-reliant. The very act of filing a float plan makes ya
dependent upon others an' it makes ya sloppy. PATHUEY! I'll
have none o' that.

As for my prediction of Isabel's path I was very close. Considering
my prediction was posted a full seven days before landfall it was
remarkably close. Had Isabel gone only five degrees to the east I
woulda been spot on.

And, Thom, please sober up! Ya don't actually spect me ta
believe yer boat'll go 12.5 knots on a broad reach. C'mon, old
chap, I didn't just fall off a turnip truck.

Performance curve? What in tarnation's that? I certainly don't need
any old scribble on a piece of paper ta tell me how fast my boat
goes. I still have the use of me eyes an' ears an' kin judge speed on
any point o'sail close ta perfectly.

I'll let you and the group know how superior my new sails are
as soon as I get 'em and try 'em out which shouldn't be long now.
I'll run 'em thru their paces and even take some pics and make a
webpage for your viewing pleasure.

S.Simon - a self-reliant sailor without peer (and without pier)

Shame on you, Neal!!

What has happened to you? Is the isolation of living alone, now that
you have retired, made you a bitter loner?

I think, just maybe, you need some time ashore among other people. Your
"Gunne Syndrome" has gotten much to large. You're losing touch with
reality!!! Snap out of it!!! Get a Room in a Boarding House with a nice
Landlady. Get back among people, like when you went to work. Make
contact with other humans and for your own good try to find out Who the
Hell you really are!!

You were talking about getting a SLIP. Do it. Get one in an active
Marina and GET A LIFE.

Join a yacht club. Even a Pot Luck Club. They will welcome you. You'll
have real people to talk to. We are just Post Boxes. We're a poor
substitute for flesh and blood

Neal, you have changed. You were fun. You were full of yourself.
Opinionated but there was a niceness about that character. I want that
person back

"I'LL DRINK TO THAT!" but it will be bitter until I see my old Buddy
back

Very effective writing style, huh?

English is a remarkable language. American English is
the main reason the U.S.A. is such a superior country.
English facilitates diversity and original thought. Unlike
French, for example, which stifles creativity, English conveys
so much about the writer depending upon how well he or
she can wield the instrument and is easily tailored to create
mood, personality and character impressions which may or
may not reflect reality. No other language is so well-adapted
for theatre of the mind.

Sorry Old Thom, some movies you like and some you don't.
They cannot all have 'three thumbs up'. That's life. Those which
cast in a more positive light that which came before simply
enhance one's appreciation of the ramifications of time passing.

S.Simon - a writer first, a sailor second; equally excellent at both
