best way to patch a thru hull?

If the through hull is 1.5 inches and the hull 0.5 inches thick Neal's
recommendation would give just a such a taper. I think you miss the
point though. In plugging a through hull the repair is not generally
intended to be structural -just a bond secure enough to stop the plug
falling out is all that is required. Finer tapers are of course needed
for full structural repairs where the stress on the laminate must be
transferred acorss the repair.

Malarkey again.

The taper should be between 4:1 to 12:1 by thickness, the diameter of the
hole has nothing to do with it.

Obviously, another intellectual here.

Obviously, You asked.

Is there another method that's as or more effective?

And I told you the answer. Steel when welded to steel will be stronger
and outlast any plastic or fiberglass patch. It's a fact.

A smarter person, an intellectual might have asked a more specific
question.

I have heard that the plastic styrofoam will not decompose for 10,000
years. Perhaps if you had been more specific in your value judgment it
might have had more validity. If what you were saying was true,
surveyors would not check hull thickness on old steel boats would they?

You're looking at most of the Horvath Racing Syndicate.
In case you don't know, the blue flags are first place.

A smarter person would know that fiberglass isn't steel.

You have to win a race to get a flag. The junk you get from those
truck stop 50 cent cranes don't really count as trophys.

Horass,

Is that where you pick up your boyfriends... in truck stops?
You must have a lot of experience with that. I wouldn't
call them trophies, but I guess you do.
