I don't eat red meat or pork. Suzanne likes steak. I eat only chicken and fish.

Wow, she really does wear the pants in that relationship. Does she burp and
fart too? Does she make you do the dishes?

hour, but I was sleepy!

Are you now saying that you planned your entry to coincide with slack

water?

No friggin way and you'll not make that stick!

Yikes! Calm down. I've never seen you respond like that before!

We cooked steak and fish and
THAT determined the length of our wait.

8 minutes, huh? ... I don't think so!!!

You were scared to enter P. Jeff at half tide. I don't blame you. As a
complete beginner, you probably didn't understand that it was NEAPS!! The
flow was probably only about 1.25kts.

Yes, Bob "One and a quarter knots". In other words - "sod all" current,
and a very easy entrance.

By waiting for slack water, you demonstrated admirable caution in the face
of unchallenging circumstances. Trans(for Oz).... "Chicken"!

Bwaaak, Bwaaaak, Bwaaaak!

You give boobie far too much credit - I think he was totally oblivious to the state of the
tide or the possibility of current.

Even though it was neaps, with a max ebb of 2.6, they might have had 2.0 knots. But the
real issue would have been the wind - if it was strong NW it would have been a problem.
RB still hasn't mentioned the wind direction.

There's a channel heer where sometimes it's safer to go thru backwards
using the engine to push against the rip and provide steerage as you

That's nothing, near Whitestone, there's an entrance into a small marina where
you have to yodel to get through. Doesn't make much sense, but you have to do
it.

Yes, it was NW and there was a serious little sea built up outside the
entrance. I was sorry to drop sail there as the motion under power was pretty
sickening.
Ahh...but I had the fish and no greasy red meat!
