I most certainly do hold a license to be master of my own boat.
To make everything perfectly legal all I have to do is tilt the motor down, start it and let it idle in the water. This officially makes my sailboat a motor boat even when the sails are up and doing all the work. (See, I do know the Rules!) Do you "idle" it "ahead" or "astern"? |
