No you're not Bob! Maybe some of the others are. Then there are people like
you who confuse reality with the truth and can't seem to deliver a
believable sail report.

| Drinking and sailing don't mix. You're a hazard and an accident waiting to
| happen.

Why don't you take a poll Bob... see how many sailors here have had a beer
or any alcoholic beverage while under sail and in charge of their boat.

Bob is ...the Accidental Sailor and Floating Hazard to navigation!

|
| So you claim. I have every reason now to doubt this. It's not even legal
to
| operate a vessel while drinking.

It is when you're beyond the 200 mile limit Bob!

| Claim what you want. You're a poor sailor if this is how you operate. I
could
| care less for what you've done. It's moot because you ignore a key law
that
| makes you a danger to others.

Not only that.... but I seem to sail even better with a few shots under the
belt! At least I know how to sail and navigate! You're frightened of the
water Bob... you don't respect it!

No doubt you are basing this on number of passes required to make an easy
entry to a harbour!!

Mooron, since you KNOW the entrance and have a chart of the area, can you
please contradict the text from the LIS cruising guide?

Thank you,

BWAHAHAHAHA! I can't lose!

Well you won't post a chart extract... and all I can find on my Encarta
atlas is Port Jefferson with a place called Poquott.. there is a location
called Flax Pond along the shoreline which is a SW to NE lying crescent and
should have shown clearly.. then a course change to SE that appears to be a
straight shore line terminating at a rather large entry to a seemingly well
protected harbour. Is this the one that gave you problems?

This is a challenge (which you wussed out on):

Here's my challenge. You sail down to Balt. I'll race you back up to

Atl.
Highlands. Any week in Sept./Oct.

Well bob?

Tell ya what, Scotty...you drive over to my Marina and I'll have TWO J-24s for

That's a much better contest and not unreasonable, as is your suggestion.

Well?

I rarely sail without having several cold ones. The secret is to
never drink 'em enough fast enough to make your blood/alcohol
meet or exceed legal limits. People who are so high and mighty
about being teetotalers while aboard are either liars or masochists.

I'll drink to THAT!

That wouldn't be fair Scott.... he'd have to make "several passes" to find
the start line.... repeat that for each mark and the finish.... you'd be on
shore at the bar watching him sail around all day trying to figure out where
he is and where the hell you went.

OMG!!!!.... Rocks? Yeah! On the friggin shoreline!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha H a

Red Flashing and Green Flashing buoys!!! Clear entrance!!! Straight like
an arrow!!! Bob with a spotlight! Bob with GPS! Radar that would have
painted that whole damned thing like it was daylight!!

.... and Bob had to make several passes... probably onto Misery Shoals... Oh
how quaint!

Those "rocks" are nearly on the shore and no where near where a sailboat
would be!!! One is awash at low tide and Bob can't even tell us what the
tide was. The only other "Rocks" shown are the ones for the jetty on the
entrance!... and they are lit!

As far as Bob's concerned, you might as well have said that drinking
while sailing was legal on Venus. He has just as much chance of
achieving either.

BTW, I drink & drive and drink & go boating. I just ensure my blood
alcohol level is less than .05 if I'm going to be in charge. Not
difficult if you have a modicum of self-control.
