No doubt you are basing this on number of passes required to make an easy
entry to a harbour!! Mooron, since you KNOW the entrance and have a chart of the area, can you please contradict the text from the LIS cruising guide? Thank you, BWAHAHAHAHA! I can't lose! RB |

Well you won't post a chart extract... and all I can find on my Encarta
atlas is Port Jefferson with a place called Poquott.. there is a location called Flax Pond along the shoreline which is a SW to NE lying crescent and should have shown clearly.. then a course change to SE that appears to be a straight shore line terminating at a rather large entry to a seemingly well protected harbour. Well bob?
Tell ya what, Scotty...you drive over to my Marina and I'll have TWO J-24s for us to race with. We can singlehand them. That's a much better contest and not unreasonable, as is your suggestion. Well? RB |

I rarely sail without having several cold ones. The secret is to
never drink 'em enough fast enough to make your blood/alcohol meet or exceed legal limits. People who are so high and mighty about being teetotalers while aboard are either liars or masochists. That wouldn't be fair Scott.... he'd have to make "several passes" to find
the start line.... repeat that for each mark and the finish.... you'd be on shore at the bar watching him sail around all day trying to figure out where he is and where the hell you went. OMG!!!!.... Rocks? Yeah! On the friggin shoreline!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha H a
Red Flashing and Green Flashing buoys!!! Clear entrance!!! Straight like an arrow!!! Bob with a spotlight! Bob with GPS!
