identity of the skipper? Why the lies, Donal? I did answer you. I said you were the skipper, a guardian angel protecting us in spirit as we entered the dangerously forbidden Port Jefferson, or as it is known on the LIS, The Port Of Lost Souls. Bwahahahahahaaha! RB |
Congratulations, Bob.
I doubt if Moorom sails drunk, but claiming that a skipper has to be a
teetotaler while under way is ridiculous. Mooron had bragged about his drunkin sails, John. Enjoy your sail with him and be sure to bring the Epirb. Bwahahahahaha! RB |

He wasn't involved in the nav. Another lie from Donal. As I clearly indicated, I spot used the GPS to give Suzanne our position. She did the rest, also using her Davis bearing compass (for practice) to confirm positions. Remember, the LIS is one long single road. On the return leg, little nav was truly needed to get home. City Island is the "last" stop before the bridge run begins. RB |
Sod off, Bob.

Give it a rest already before I sail up there and
put a boot in your fat, lying, pimply face. Not only will you stay anchored on that billion lb test rode, but even if someone torched you free, you lack the balls to sail up here. Stop making threats. If you have an ounce of anything resembling courage, come pay me a visit. Loser! RB |

"Bobsprit" wrote in message ... Stop making threats. If you have an ounce of anything resembling courage, come pay me a visit. Loser! It'd be too hard to find you anyway. You can't even find yourself on a map or chart. You go sailing only in your dreams. Thimbles - yah right! I'd have to hire a private eye who knew the location of all the fast food establishments in New York and visit them all one by one until I saw them wheeling you in or out on a dolly. S.Simon |

Donal,
And what would it prove? We know he lies. The "Schackles on the cleats" proved him a liar by his own pictures. There was no change in him. It sure as hell isn't doing anything to improve BB or Mooron's stature. If you enjoy it, have at it, but if you say something stupid rebuttle your lowering yourself to his level. No skin off my ass. You do know you can slow a car down without reefing. I've mentioned many times that I run a "dry ship". I never drink while I am sailing. However, the main reason is that I want to avoid the temptation to have a "second". That does NOT mean that I want to see any laws on the subject. I'm also quite happy to assume that the "other guy" is drunk in any passing situation. I would prefer to see our sport remain free from regulation than to subject myself to the possibility that the police can stop me at their whim. Sailing *is* freedom. Let's keep it that way! The British government recently tried to bring in "drink sailing" laws. In the government white paper they admitted that not a *SINGLE* life would have been saved over the last ten years, if drunken sailing had been illegal!! Our liberty should only be restricted when there is an overwhelming benefit to the common good. Regards Donal -- |

In the USCG Annual Boating Statistics for 2001 there are 681 fatalities listed. In 232 cases alcohol was listed as "the investigating official has determined that the operator was impaired or affected while operating the boat." In 91 fatalities alcohol consumptions was listed as the primary cause. Of course, for sailing the numbers are a much lower - 12 fatalities for aux sailboats, 18 for sail only, and most of these were downings - so one might conclude that alcohol was actually a very minor factor in "sailing safety" as opposed to "boating safety." http://www.uscgboating.org/statistic...stics_2001.pdf |
