Ones sees that the largest privately owned telescope in the world was bought
for hundreds less than Booby's toy telescope.

In fact, Booby's scope wouldn't even work as a spotting scope for the above
wonder. Booby's telescope is puny and expensive! Plus it's in a crap

Yep, been looking all month.
Got a 10" reflector set up in the backyard

We're using a Celestron GPS 9.25 inch and an old 6 inch Newt in the Poconos.
Skies are pretty dark there, but Mars has never been a fave object. I've been
thinking of getting a bigger scope, though the Celestron is already a handful.
What type of 10" do you own?

Don't bother Donal, you won't see it for the fog anyway.

Ouch!

Is it foggy weather too?

Nah, it's a bit overcast at the moment, but it might clear up later.

You're stupid! Do you know what the surface temperature on
Venus is? It's hot enough to melt lead - almost 500 degrees C.
It would take a million years to cool the planet down enough
to make it liveable even if something could be done with the
atmosphere.

Terraforming is out of the question unless we had the technology
to move the planet out of orbit to the area of the asteroid belt
to let it cool down for several thousand years.

water under the surface, it would not be sufficient to create a breathable atmosphere.
