Huh? The DNR-Department of Natural Resources. At the time the moorings
disappeared, from what my sorces tell me(60's) there were Republican governors. Really doesn't have anything to do with it, however. Our local sail club didn't appear on the scene until 1969, IIRC. You should look up http://www.icle.org/michlaw/oview.cfm?caseid=22572221 I don't think any of the few individuals in these parts that had their boats on moorings had the resources to take on neighborhood associations on this side of the river, and the good people of Grosse Ile on the other. John Cairns "katysails" wrote in message ... On Lake Michigan, sailors successfully fought off the DNR, you can still find moorings. End of story. Not exactly....Lake Erie/Lake HuronDemocrat side of state....Lake MichiganRepublican side of state....also the Romney family owns a ton of land up on Portage Laake and the dunes of Lake MI, the VanAnde;'s and DeVos' now own most of Arcadia, and the Milliken's own a bunch of Mackinac Island....Granholm owns Flint.... -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A. My point...they all owned land on Lake Michigan and = thereabouts....didn't give a rat's a** for Erie or Huron.... --=20 katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A.
