Default Getting Ready, Bill!

I've asked some fairly honest sailing oriented questions
regarding passage planning and navigation.

About a 75 mile trip? Oh, okay.

all I have to say is that when someone claims the capability to
make a passage within a specified time frame and boasts about rubbing
peoples noses in his success

75 miles, Mooron. Take a pill. "Success" is a pretty strong word. We could do
the trip in well under a day if we chose to.

How would you deem that I could suffer "humiliation" from any aspect or
outcome of your trip? How could you administer a "beating" ???

Monday is a few days away. I'm afraid you have no choice but to wait.

Don't be so defensive Bob... 75 miles in a 12 hour time frame is a real
push. You seem to be routing like a power boater. Average speed over
distance as opposed to the total distance over ground due to wind and
tacks. A 75 mile distance can easily add up to 100 miles distance sailed.
Consider that 120 miles in a 24 hour period is considered good time when
ocean sailing.

Considering your "day" is 12 hours [ sunrise to sunset avg.]... There is no
way you can make it in "well under a day". You'd make it in a day if you
started very early and dropped hook very late.

Where's the mpeg of a well tuned boat on a reach with a free helm Bob????

I can't see any humiliation or beating Bob..... I've completed a trip from
Halifax to Mahone Bay in one day.... that's aprox. 80 nautical miles

I'm not questioning your trip to Halifax, Mooron.
Perhaps you need to refocus.

That's why it's going to be fun!
