One of the more interesting experiences this summer. . . we were sailing
north in Little Egg Harbor, as a "swarm" of butterflies (30 boats?) was reaching across the channel (heading east), back to their dock to end their lesson. Each boat had a kid at the tiller, each kid had a "Holy Sh*t" look on his/her face, as they seemed completely unsure of what to do next. Each kid made the determination to do absolutely nothing, and to allow me to figure out how to avoid colliding with any and all of them. Fortunately the wind was kind enough to allow me to wind my way slowly and cautiously through the array, giving me a chance to greet and speak (very briefly) with many of the young sailors. It was one of the coolest experiences of the season. -- Scout be back later - gotta take a Bertie "katysails" wrote Watch the kids sail their Butterflies. Better yet, go sail one |
