I case that I followed a few years ago went something like this: A guy was in his new
boat and left the marina restaurant at night. Wife was sleeping down below. Man drives
into breakwater at speed; the wife is badly injured hitting her head on a bulkhead.. They
sue the dealer for selling a boat and not warning him that its dangerous. They sue the
manufacturer for not having seatbelts on the bunks. The wife's case was thrown out; I
don't know about the other.

Some guy ran over his wife after she fell off the boat and is suing Mercury
because the propeller didn't have a guard on it.

And, to give the CG credit, they do stop boats that are
allowing it.

Roughly 5% of fatalities are caused from standing & sitting on the bow,

transom and rail.
I expect very few, if any, are on sailboats, but its what they are trained

to look for. I
shudder when I see kids hanging off the bow of a fast powerboat.

Some dickwad sheriff motorboater tried (actually did) give
a friend of mine a ticket for allowing someone to ride on the
bow. They were coming into dock, the sheriff told him
to get off the bow, and mine friend told the guy at the bow
to stay there and finish what he was doing. The judge threw
it out.

Isn't bow riding illegal where you are?

I'm sure she wasn't "bow riding." She was, er, checking the forestay.

There was a woman who made a campaign of the "exposed prop" issue. She lost her son when
he was swimming off his rented houseboat on Lake Powell and someone started the engine.
She has tried to get a federal law passed where all rented and chartered boats have prop
guards.

Actually, being struck by a prop is a major cause of death - not mutually exclusive with
falling off the bow. Almost all involve smaller boats under 25 feet.

I got a paper cut once, there should be warnings on those things.

Maybe a guard, too.

If nobody else will say that they believe your constant stream of lies,

then
I will step forward and express my support for you- tomorrow. Nobody
deserves the total humiliation that you are undergoing at the moment. I

was
hoping that one of the 5000 or so lurkers would step forward and say that
you seemed credible.

Anyway, if nobody else steps forward by tomorrow night, then I will

publicly
state that I believe you. I'd really hate to think that you had no

friends
here in A.s.a!

SOS SOS SOS Heeeellllp!

Could anybody who believes that Bobsprit is *not* a liar Puleeeassse step
forward.... Otherwise *I* am going to have to say that I believe him. I
really do not want to be seen as a liar.

Your self-created problem, Donal, is that in THIS pantomime, the
audience WANTS Tinker Bell to die....
