But now we're back to the question of how much you sail. Last weekend you took your
longest trip of the season. Coney Island is maybe 25 miles from City I, so you might have totaled 60, 70 miles. Sound like maybe 12 hours underway. IIRC, you didn't sail much the week before. But you claimed you sailed 24/7, which is 168 hours. There's a big difference between what you're doin, and what you're claimin! Add to this that you only sail a lot maybe 20 weeks a year, and your compass is only seeing a few hundred hours use a year. I don't think you have to worry about wearing it out. And besides, I'm sure you could get a new one for half price! "CANDChelp" wrote in message ... Your Globemaster series compass is designed for years of outdoor use with reasonable care. Always protect your compass when not in use to protect it from UV and accidental damage by use of the cover. Stainless models can be cleaned with any approved polish. Never use an abrasive cleanser on the compass dome or plastic parts. Clean with fresh water only and glass cleaner. RB |
