Is it because they are two steps closer to freedom?

Is it because they are two more steps away from oppression?

Again the locals dance in the streets while you and your kind try to

And yes it is sad that more brave Americans will die.

You give "Donel, Nav,per,oz,lil stevie, boob****" far more
credit than they deserve. Let's say it like it is, please.

Donal, Oz, Booby, etc. are worse than Ouday and Qusay.

While Ouday and Qusay at least had the cojones to do
their murder and torture in full view of the Iraqi public,
our newsgroup supporters of Saddam and his sons
lurk in the background, out of sight and free from
consequences while they support murder, torture and
tyranny.

The only thing good about it is eventually they'll get theirs
just like Ouday and Qusay. What goes around, comes
around. You can't escape Karma.

Wrong. That is your opinion. That does not make it fact. Our

only to enforce UN resolution 1441.

IIRC the UN was against invasion because they saw no "imminent threat"

Now, that's just plain stupid. Australia is too small to play trade
wars with the EEC and the USA. The Asian economies aren't doing much
for us either and are locking us out of agricultural exports to
protect their domestic sector.

We gain more from a FTA with the USA than we lose provided we get some
agreement on agricultural products. If we don't, there's no reason why
we should bother with an FTA - the USA doesn't make much that we can't
source elsewhere and a series of bilateral FTAs like the NZ and
Singapore models may well be better for us.

The USA already has a lot of input into our politics the same as we do
for NZ and for the same reasons - economic leverage.

A word of warning in regards to free trade with the USA... Canada has taken
them to the world court on several occasions and won rulings against them...
which they have refused to honour let alone obey. In short they have
repeatedly proved that their word means nothing and that they are as
trustworthy as an Arab salesman.

If at all possible do not engage in a FTA with the USA... they are known
to consistently fail to live up to their word and undertake lying as a
matter of general practice. The entire country is morally bankrupt and it's
citizens are blinded to outside opinion by their own media.

Lately, when somebody disagrees with you, you call them anti-American. This
is a completely irrational response, especially when you consider that most
of the people who supported the US position on Afghanistan, are against the
current action in Iraq. I assume that you are reduced to defending Bush

Why would I want to tell that to your list of wasters?

Are you stupid enough to believe that I support anybody on your childish

Wake up, Neal. This is about the integrity of our leaders. This is about
their ability to sacrifice our soldiers lives to promote their own narrow
interests. This is about Truth, Morality and Decency.

Did you see Rumsfeld on the TV today? He was actually dancing for joy at
the beginning of the news conference. He was justifiably pleased about the
deaths of Saddam's sons. He must have been very grateful that the three
American soldiers who were killed this morning were "militarily
insignificant".

Perhaps JL will update his list. It would be interesting to know how old
those boys were.

A few weeks ago, US casualities were averaging 1 death every 2 days. That
figure is rising, and at the same time the public are becoming accustomed to
the news. As one reporter said today :-
"..... But then again, a few weeks ago the death
of an American soldier in Iraq would have been
in the first paragraph of this dispatch rather than
the ninth. And that, in a sense, tells you the whole story."

I know that this represents a biased view but, it does contain a grain of
truth.

I hope that Saddam's sons were in some way organising the resistance, and
that their deaths will lead to a reduction in the death toll. Time will
tell.

Your view is unwarranted and unwelcome. Does it never occur
to you that 'those boys' are volunteers who are patriots who
signed up for military service? It might be different if they were
draftees who were not where they wanted to be. But, that is
not the case. These fine patriots died fighting for their country.
They deserve better than having rabble like you demean their
sacrifice.

I take it that you also consider them to be "militarily insignificant"?
Your response suggests that you would prefer to ignore their deaths. You
don't want your celebrations to be dampened by the thought of your soldiers
dying.

I think that your boys should be treated with the respect that they deserve.
They volunteered to fight for their country. You seem to expect them to
die for the protection of their lying president's chances of winning another
election.

You do not speak like someone who ever volunteered to sacrifice anything.

Does it never occur to you that the soldiers who die fighting for
what they think is right have families and loved ones whom you
defile every time you second guess motives or give them your
slanted and cowardly view of the world?

Don't you think that Rumsfeld defiled the memories today's dead when he
danced in front of the cameras?

Does it never occur to you to just mind your own business?

AAhhhhhh. It is my business. The UK is tied up in all of this. I live

to it. You have no right to judge our leaders. You have no right
to demean our patriots You don't live here and you don't vote.

Peoples' votes don't actually matter in the choice of president, do they?

You don't see me criticizing your leaders even when they are a bunch
of socialists. It's not my business until and unless they attack our

country.

You are attacking our country and you have no right to because
you are a stupid foreigner.

I have never attacked your country.

You're pathetic. Butt out, asshole!

Why do you bother replying to an asshole? Have you sunk so low? You used
to lead everyone about by the rings in their noses. Remember? That's why
I came here in the first place. I respected, and was entertained by, your
debating abilities and your brilliant command of language.

Umm actually it occurred that most are from depressed rural economic
regions who were unable to get jobs and saw the military as a way to
feed themselves.

Actually, based on statistics that appeared today, earnings and unemployment
are lowest in the agri states. It is worse on the coasts due to losses in hi
tech and services and worse in the south due to eroding manufacturing, but nice
try.

Does it ever occur to you that your leaders never saw action and
regard those boys as numbers "militarily insignificant" numbers?

The statements regarding militarily insignificant losses DO come from military
leaders who, in most cases, have seen action. They are not politicians and not
trained to temper their remarks. The fact is that those losses ARE militarily
insignificant. They are NOT insignificant in human terms. But you knew that
and that the "militarily insignificant" thing is just a hot button term to gain
traction on an issue that is slipping away.

Does it ever occur to you that world peace IS our business, that there
is more to this world than the USA?

I'll give you that. Wise up, Cappy. Remember, though, that you and just about
everyone else relies on the US to keep world peace. Such is the yoke of a sole
superpower.
