Don't know your history, do you? Or your fairy tales either. I know *my* history - which particular history am I lacking in this context? There are literally billions of histories I know nothing about. And which fairy tales? You may be aware of a book by L Frank Baum called "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", which isn't a fairy tale, it's a novel. A political satire quite pertinent to the current political situation in the US, but as a reference to rigged voting maybe a little obscure. Perhaps you're referring to Dorothy's red shoes? -- Pd |

Its all about the bimetallic dollar. Marcus Hanna, and Eastern financier, was the "Wizard
of the Gold Ounce" "You shall not press down upon the brow of labor this crown of thorns, you shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold." For those of you who, like me, were amazed to learn that the US Navy
ships can be left dead in the water Back in the 70's the ship I was on spent three days guarding a Destroyer Escort that had gone dead in the water and was drifting about in the Med. Towards the end of the first day big smoke columns appeared on the horizon. It was three Soviet Osa class gunboats that surrounded us. The next two days were spent watching our whaleboat weave in and out of the gunboats, the gunboats trying to run over the whaleboat, deck guns moving about, M14's pointed all over the place, in all a real good time. The ship got going on its own and about one month later was intentionally rammed by a Soviet sub. Ah, the good old daze! |

Here's an account of the incident with photos of the collision taking place.
I was on the Moinester. http://www.usni.org/hrp/Train.htm Do you still think it was unintentional? "The_navigator_©" wrote in message ... Most unlikely -the intentional bit. Cheers MC Gilligan wrote: about one month later was intentionally rammed by a Soviet sub. Ah, the good old daze! |
