Default Newbie launching question

Hi

I have recently purchased a nice old wooden enterprise in great
condition (unlike my sailing skills). I can rig and sail it ok, but
am making a mess of launching it in moderate winds at my local
reservoir. The water is plenty deep enough, but the launching area is
a gentle slope that makes it hard to get the centreboard and rudder
down before you're in the boat. Should I launch with only the main
sail up? How should I orientate the boat?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks
James

Are you launching off a trailer, or from a sandy shore?
Orient the boat to the wind.
