It does amaze me that every once in a while you hear a report of someone
actually falling for something like that... I know a guy, not a kid...
who came very close to starting to send money to a woman he met "on
line" from Jamaica. Several of us talked him out of it, but apparently
she was very convincing. When we finally got him to make it clear "he
had no money", she disappeared. I honestly think, if she hung on, he
would have too.
I think it happens way to often, some people have given 10s of
thousands of dollars to the scamsters.
Does any one remember the website of the guy that played the Nigerian
scamsters and got pictures of them doing all kinds of strange things?
It seems like it had a number attached to it, like 409 scam or some such
thing. The site was funny.
