I didn't ask for the blanket and I didn't even want it but it was
given to me and "stuck" on my bill.
I also did not really have standing to argue about it because the
insurance paid (no doubt a lot less than $30).
BTW for those who say the answer is "government medicine" I should
point out this is a government owned and operated hospital with
elected directors

So, you didn't have a choice. As I said, you don't care because your
"insruance" paid. So, you're a big part of the problem.
VA? So? At least they can negotiate prices for drugs. Unlike Medicare.
