When I was a kid my grandmother always had an answer for this sort of
thing: "If you hadn't been there, it wouldn't have happened."
It's a tragic loss for Pettry's family and friends of course, but
let's put things in perspective. He was from out of town, drinking
in a local bar, looking for a good time, and probably flirting with
some other guy's wife.
There's no excuse for murder of course but if he hadn't been there it
wouldn't have happened.
