Although new cars no longer need it and some automakers will void the

You're quoting from a different environment.
We're considered an extreme environment for rust problems caused by
salt air and relentless application of road salt caused by endless
freeze/thaw cycles during the winter.
I imagine the factory applied rust protection works just fine in
Snellville, Georgia.
Where the hell is Snellville, Ga to start with? But, did you notice the
part about it voiding the factory warranty? And did you notice it made
NO mention of "environment"?
Rav4 "trucks" need aftermarket rustproofing in harsh environment. Your
comments only apply to Rav4 cars/SUVs used in a civilized environment.
