More than 80% of the male bass fish in Washington's major river are now

I thought that was a result of "Don't ask, don't tell" ;-)

Could be. I wouldn't swim or fish in that river. The bay isn't quite as
bad in many areas, but I still don't swim in it.

The problem with the bay is sea nettles. About the time the water gets
warm enough to get in, the sea nettles arrive. We used to joke that
you could see them from the road on that last hill before you drop in
on Chesapeake Beach.

Good God, Harry's still on the rag. Man, he oughta get a life.

You're right about the sea nettles and warm water in the bay. When there's not
been a lot of rain and the water temp goes up, the nettles become unbearable. In
the middle of this photo is an island with a nice little sandy beach. It's a
great place to hang out, but the nettles have driven us away. This one is just
north of Shady Side.

Here's another one in the Magothy River.

That picture must have been taken during winter, 'cause there's normally a pot
full of boats there.
