Once hauled for painting, turns out my 30 yr old sailboat needs a new
prop strut. Old one had finally corroded enough that it cracked. I
sorta suspected this as I had looked at it when I dove on it last
year. 30 years I s'pose is not too bad except it was good for so many
years. It only seemed to go bad at the dock I have been at the last 5
years where I had to replace zincs every 4 months.
So, having one made from stainless. I was hesitant about stainless
but they say they use it on many boats. Thoughts?

Stainless is fine, if properly welded.
Unlike cast bronze, it is easily repaired if the need arises.
Arbitration has now recessed.
