Cool! Cap'n Ron is now a feature in Tideline Magazine, here....
http://www.capnrons.com/index.html?id=TL
Plenty of new experiments to try out on your boat...yum yum....
My buddy Joe has taken his Jenneau 40DS to Tortola to charter it for
the
winter....and take a couple of vacations on it while it's free....
My other buddy Geoffrey, faced with ANOTHER dock fee increase by the
greedy
City Marina, has moved his Amel Sharki 41 "Lionheart" CONVENIENTLY
right
across the finger dock from Cap'n Ron!
There'll be a bunch of beer-food swapping with Cap'n Ron until Joe
runs
him
off next spring....(c;]
Every dock needs a Cap'n Ron!.....
My buddy called from there on Monday....... says it's pretty quiet.
He's only had a couple of charter jobs this year so far.... the
economic
downturn has touched the BVI.
I'm sure Joe's boat will be more used by him and his buddies than by the
charter company, these days. If Joe wants to sail here....he just
chooses someone else's boat. If the someone else wants a vacation in
BVI....arrangements can be made from the sharing, too.
If I wanted to go sailing in the freezing cold (-2C now) in the morning,
there's lots of boats to choose from. But, I'm queer about it and
refuse to take someone else's boat out without them aboard so I never
jeopardize a friendship in the process.
I will, occasionally, make use of one of the dock condos for a weekend
offered to me. I always leave the boats in much better condition than I
found them...
