Interior carpet recommendations?

Boat had horrible domestic (Red) carpet which luckily caught diesel
overflow!
I took it all out and found only floorboard underneath, painted grey.
I would like to put something on the floor and am inclined toward sisal,
but edging might be a problem(?)
Anyone done something like this?

My Rawson 30 had carpet when I bought it, eventually I want to put in teak
and holly. To replace the worn carpeting in the meantime, however, I got
some indoor-outdoor carpeting that has rubber backing and alternating raised
piping (for lack of the proper word) running lengthwise. I used the old
carpeting as a pattern to cut the new, and it dropped right into place. It
doesn't move at all no matter how much motion the boat endures, and is very
non-slip underfoot. The cut edges don't unravel at all, as the fabric is
fused to the rubber backing. I think I got it at Lowe's. That was years
ago -- so much for "in the meantime."
