We have two latops with no serial port. I went to Radio shack and
purchased a
serial to usb converter. It comes with insallation software. Plug the GPS
cable
to the converter and the USB end to the computer. Some programs only
recognize
com 1-4 and sometimes the coverter comes on as com 7 or 8, however, it is
an
easy fix by going to the device manager to rename it.
