Anyone tried this for emergency repairs?
Gordon

Why?

I've various sizes of wire and a few different connecting methods
including solder when a connection goes bad. Mid-season, our GPS
connector went bad and I was able to wire in a new one in under a half
hour while we were under way. I keep such spares in my junk box for just
that reason.

Truth be told, I can't think of an "emergency" repair that wireglue
would fix adequately. Anything I deem "emergency" if it doesn't work
requires a high-power connection that only "snip and reconnect" would
satisfy. (Losing our GPS was an inconvenience, not an emergency.)

Maybe I'm a bit odd, but if I have to fix something, even in a hurry, I
want to fix it well enough to not have to worry about it later. Once
fixed, it's fixed.

Only asked if anyone had tried! How do you know it wouldn't be
adequate if you never tried it. Might be worth a shot if you're days at
sea, no soldering iron available and wire nuts won't do the job.
