Default Diesel smell

Is there anyway to remove or cover up, seal wood that has a diesel fuel
smell.

If you really want to get rid of the odor for good instead of just
knocking it down for a while, soak the wood at least overnight in a
STRONG solution of detergent(a heavy duty degreaser would be even
better--and water...ONLY detergent and water--no bleach or other
cleaning products.

The diesel/slash oil has penetrated the wood...only a
detergent/degreaser that also penetrates the wood and emulsifies all the
oil so it can be flushed out can get rid of it.

Rinse VERY thoroughly with clean water. Leave all lockers and hatches
open so that plenty of fresh air can circulate. If that doesn't get rid
of all the odor, do it again(the whole "treatment," not just the rinse.
