Default marine stereos

I have had several marine stereo,s tape and CD and the unit I have now
(broken, again) is a Jensen CD player, west marine has replaced it on
warranty twice making this the third. My unit is mounted in an instrument
box (with door) under my tee top, no spray hits it, but it's downfall is
just living outdoors. It seems the delicate micro circuits can't stand the
humidity we have in the south. My next move will be either a cheaper car
unit that I can remove and store indoors when not in use or maybe try a
Clarion which people tell me is up living outdoors. So, to answer your
question, I don't know, but when a "marine" stereo player fails from just
humidity you have to wonder if there is any meaningful diference other than
maybe some clear spray sealer applied over a few parts? I hope somebody
weights in on this with a good recomendation on the player, the posters on
speakers made some good points on safety issues.
