Default Jacques Cousteau Odyssey posted! CAFB OPEN HOUSE TOMORROW!

Someone has posted a whole storm of Jacques Cousteau Odyssey episodes in
nicely-compressed DivX format over on alt.binaries.multimedia.documentaries
newsgroup.

These are the Cousteau Society's trips from back in the late 70's.

I haven't viewed them as I just found them. Most of today has been spent
getting my retired Air Force stepvan loaded and ready to go to the
Charleston Air Force Base Open House 2008 early tomorrow morning. The
Thunderbirds are flying their show, but the BIG show we got a glimpse of
today during practice is the new F-22 Raptor which did some really amazing
aerobatics all afternoon to the delight of everyone goofing off on a Friday
afternoon in the warm Charleston sun.

To cap off the practice, today, the crowds assembled got to watch the World
War II P-51 Mustang, completely restored fly in very tight formation with
the F-22 Raptor, which simply DWARFED the P-51 like a 747 in formation with
a Piper Cub! The Raptor is HUGE!.....AND LOUD! Seeing them fly with the
nose of the Raptor sitting almost touching the P-51's left elevator was a
fantastic sight for all. During that time, the P-51's big enginen was
making all the noise at full throttle trying to make enough speed so the
Raptor wouldn't go into a stall....(c;

It's gonna be a fantastic weekend at CAFB. The flightline is full of
static displays and seems to have lots more corporate support than last
year:

Our own C-17 aluminum clouds will also be demonstrating our airlift
capability....albeit a little slower than the Raptor...(c;
Ft Bragg will be invading (and probably setting fire to the runways again
like last year). Some Airborne landed in the crowd and we got to see them
CLOSE UP!
