Totally disagree.
Given my druthers, I'd take a AK over it's M-16 cousin anyday in close
quarters if only for one reason - it's shorter and had much better
balance even with the extra half pound of weight. It also will not
jam - ever. Fewer parts, quicker disassembly/assembly and in a pinch,
you can retrofit all AKs from other AKs.
It's simple, effective and easy to maintain. And up to 250 yards, as
accurate, or even more accurate, than the M-16 - whatever variant.
Now if you want to reach out and touch someone, that's a different
story. Close in, AK every time.
and it is very cheap to buy in the arms market.
