Thanks Bill much appreciated!!
If you have any telecommunications needs, for Nortel, Norstar, Executone, or
any general questions just send me an email directly.
I will probably have more questions forthcoming, once I get started on the
rigging, but hopefully not.
Thanks again.
Or...
If you have any of these phones in your office and just would like a new
clean one let me know.

Being in a technical field for over 30 years, having experience in
Automotive OBDII and having a laptop interface for this application,
hooking up a laptop to the Etec is probably feasible.
But I am sure the program, hardware and protocol is proprietary, and it is
kept out of the hands of backyard techs like me?
It has to be a serial connection, with transmit, receive and ground, but
I am sure the connector would be hard to get into my hands.
But it is a shame that a guy like me who can fix just about anything
can't do this, but I guess it is in the manufacturers best interest.
Can I prime the oil system by performing the winterizing procedure, in
the book it states that this can be done?
I also will be purchasing the service manual for this engine.
You can purchase from a dealer the diagnostic software on CD which will
run on Windows along with the interface cable and you can get a quality
USB to serial port adapter for late model laptops. It will be a read only
software as you cannot make engine changes with it as it cannot be
registered with the factory as a dealer can. You can find all the engine
info, any error codes, etc. but you cannot change engine settings or
timing.
Here is a link about the software availability

The service manuals are great, easy to read, and have lots of
illustrations and explanations.
Yep, you can use the winterizing procedure for priming, but you should do
it 3 times to make sure all the air is out.
The important things on the motor are to get the latest software which
will make you motor the same as a 2007. Also use the laptop to watch the
idle temperature, it should be close to 160°. It it is lower, replace the
thermostat and the pressure relief valve and rubber seat. Be sure to use
the correct sparkplug number and index them. It's all in the book.
