Especially after the first couple of years, the maintenance and usage
practices of the owners can have a greater impact on the quality of a
used boat than any difference in the original build. We've all seen
somebody turn what started out as a nice boat into a real garbage
barge, and we've all seen what began as a boat of only moderate

What is the criteria for a quality boat? If it is still shinny and has
that new boat smell three months after I bought it then it is a

Quality is highly subjective.

Please note that the JD Power report is surverying "customer
satisfaction", not quality.

Please note that the wording of survey questions and even the order in
which they are asked is sometimes more important than the answers

Absolutely.

I have my persistent doubts about the blind objectivity of private
companies that contract to provide comparions between various
products.

But these are the JD Power results for this year; gain of salt or no.
