As a matter of fact, they have a biscuit recipe to die for! They use
yeast.
Ingredients:
1 package dry active yeast
2 teaspoons warm water
4 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
2 cups buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
A half a cup of solid vegetable shortening!
No wonder you almost died.
