I was in two minds about posting - shows what I dork I am... but then I
thought that if instinctively went to save my dog (who went thro katrina
with me) then so would someone else, and perhaps not in such good
surroundings.


Having owned golden retrievers who will jump into any water, anywhere,
anytime I've already had to consider this. One of the first things I
do when we get into a new slip is to look around for swim ladders, boat
ramps, etc. to try to figure out how I'd get the dog out of the water
after she's jumped in. (Of course that automatically means I'm looking
around for how to get ME out of the water when I slip in!) It would be
no problem in the summer, but I sure wouldn't want to take an unplanned
dip THIS time of year! I'm glad you and your dog are OK!
