I was in two minds about posting - shows what I dork I am... but then I thought that if instinctively went to save my dog (who went thro katrina with me) then so would someone else, and perhaps not in such good surroundings. Having owned golden retrievers who will jump into any water, anywhere, anytime I've already had to consider this. One of the first things I do when we get into a new slip is to look around for swim ladders, boat ramps, etc. to try to figure out how I'd get the dog out of the water after she's jumped in. (Of course that automatically means I'm looking around for how to get ME out of the water when I slip in!) It would be no problem in the summer, but I sure wouldn't want to take an unplanned dip THIS time of year! I'm glad you and your dog are OK! Ruby |
