Default Pretty damned cool bimini enclosure

Oh, the fact it's an actual bimini, as opposed to a T-top. OK.
I swear, that guy looks EXACTLY like a GI Joe I had when I was a kid.

It's just a bimini, what's so cool about it? And, who's CamoDude?
Any guns on board?

One of the local guides had a canvas pro build this for his
existing bimini. It's really nice, and provides protection without
having to have the annoyance of a tee-top.

Uh, it's a bimini with full front and side curtains. That means it is
a bimini that extends one's fishing season in cooler weather AND
keeps one out of the rain when that is important. I've seen plenty of
tee-tops with front and side curtains, but no biminis on center
consoles rigged up that way.

That's what's cool about it.

Lots of us who have had tee-tops and biminis on open boats prefer
biminis. I've had tee-tops on two center console boats and find them
next to useless for providing shade from the sun.

I have no idea who the camo dude is, and I have no idea if there are
"guns on board." Why would either concern you?

I had the same thought as you, what is so cool about it? It is a
creative use for a fully enclosed bimini, but a fully enclosed bimini
none the less. I guess I haven't seen one used this way before.

Ahh, the beauty of a bimini is that it stores out of the way when you
don't need a top, which, around here, is most days except the most
brutally hot and sunny. If you need it, you open it up. And if you want
to extend your season a tad or come back in the rain, the who rig takes
just a couple of minutes to set up.

And, instead of a tee-top that acts as a drogue when you trailer, and
provides very little shade, you have something that provides shade when
you need it. Also, when you put the full cover on your boat after you
use it, you don't have to buy and use an ungainly cover with zippers
that accomodates a tee-top.

Obviously, there are downsides to such a top, but there are downsides to
a permanently "up" tee-top, too. I've tried biminis and tee-tops, and I
prefer biminis.

The guide whose boat I have shown says since getting the bimini add-ons,
he's been able to extend his paydays out on the water by nearly 300
trips over the past few years.
