I got about three minutes into it when my knees said, "F you, Charlie!"
The rest of me felt pretty good. It's going to take me a while to work
my
way into it. But I like the machine. It is very smooth and there's
enough
going on to maintain my attention.
If your knees can handle the treadmill, they should be able to handle the
elliptical, but the motion is different and it takes some time to get
used
to. I found that little or minimal resistance settings are worse than a
moderate amount. Too little and my coordination and timing gets messed
up.

I use a treadmill and I hate it - my knees hurt like hell.
Oddly, when I walk through the woods along the old
logging trail, I'm fine.
Go figure.
Try adding a daily dose of Glucosamine HCL(1,500 mg) and Chondroitin (!,200
mg) twice/day (2 tablets each time). This combination is designed to
lubricate the bone joints.
Both my wife and I have used this for the past 2 months and we have both
noticed an improvement in our joint pain and flexibility. We use the
Costco /Kirtland brand.
