127.0.0.1 is 'localhost', how any computer sees itself.
I could run without an NNTP posting host header at all
(as in this poast), but I prefer to show localhost to
confuse those who are not computer literate. My Gravity
newsreader (in conjunction with Altopia's policies) allows
me to customize headers to fit my needs. Even my Path.
