If the Senate ends up tied (49/49 with 2 independents) it makes Joe

Ironic.

Whoo Hoo!!
I'm guessing Repubs with a two seat margin, excluding a recount in
Virginia.
But the Dems took the House, and by a decent margin. We're finally
going to have some oversight over the Bush mis-administration.
Pffft.
1) Veto pen.
2) Senate confirms Bush's third SCOTUS appointment
Your boy is a lame duck, and any number of Republican U.S. Senators
coming up for re-election in 2008 will be rushing towards the middle.
Quack.
Most of the Democrats who won the House races all ran to the right.
Pro-God, pro-life, pro-gun.
A split Congress means less spending. I see the deficit falling even
faster than Bush predicted.
This hopefully will show both parties that if they want to win, they
better move towards the center.
The Republican party has slowly been drifting towards the center over the
past 6 years as evidenced by the changes in leadership (Lott to Frist, and
Delay to Hastert).
The Democratic Party leadership is about as far left as you can get, yet
they were carried to victory by the conservative members of their party. If
they transition those lefty extremists out, and put the conservative
Democrats in, they'll win the White House in '08. If not, they'll lose the
House again, *and* lose the Presidency.
