Can anyone recommend a good trailer boat that might go behind a VW

your approach leaves a lot to the imagination, you up for cruising on a
trailerable? need a cabin? Budget? needs to be fast? sailable
singlehanded? the list goes on!
My favorite little boat that can be trailered easily and can be camped
on easily too is a Flying Scot. they are 19 feet, beamy, stable, and
have lots of room on board. There are a huge number of them available
used and new, and can be towed by a Toyota Corolla or similar.
good luck!

I was out on a great afternoon sail with a buddy on his CL16.
It's an open 16 foot dinghy that should weigh less than 700 lbs
including trailer. The wind was quite gusty in the harbout and we were
flying along at 6 knots. In fact we actually passed or paced a number of
keel boats and while they were keeled over we were able to sail fairly
flat without reefing the main. Must say I was impressed.
BTW the owner sailed this little dinghy from Halifax to the Canso
Strait, a 150 nm distance, single handed early September.
