If there are fork truck type tanks, they can be set up for either vertical
or horizontal installation. (NOT a DIY job)

If they are typical BBQ type tanks, vertical only.

I didn't think of the fork truck tanks.
These were aluminum tanks and looked like 20 pounders. I kind of doubt they
are fork truck tanks but maybe its possible?

I guess a follow-up question would be:
Is a surveyor likely to require these to be changed? I assume so and this
would entail some expense.
