Well, I survived my trip from Sydney, N.S. to St. Pierre, and back.
My mast wiring did not. Somehow I managed to pinch it and ruin the wires.
Just as well, they were 20+ years old and could use redoing, and I'll add
an Aqua Signal tri-color and strobe while I'm at it. Also, I want to run
a dedicated ground to each light, no shared ground returns.
However, I need a better way to connect my wires so I don't bonehead it
once again and mess up the new installation.
Does anyone have a good reference and/or site for a deck stepped mast
wiring interface? I will have about 12 wires (+/-) and a steel hull &
deck house. I have a LeFiell aluminum mast.
I'm thinking that I would like to have a terminal box on the mast, or one
I could tuck inside the mast. Then I would have a relatively short cable
assembly into the cabin where I have an existing terminal block. Then I
would disconnect/reconnect the wires at the mast base.
Also, recommendations on type of wire would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Howard
