Ok, I have to claim ignorance. Where is this? A sailing resort that
rents Lasers and Hobie Waves? Tell me more.

Bitter End Yacht Club. It's at the eastern end of Virgin Gorda, open the
to trade winds and sheltered water of Drake Sound. I think the sailing
end of it is tapering off due to lack of public interest, although it's
a fine place to sail or windsurf & they have everything from an Express
37 9costs extra), J-24s (free), Lasers, Vanguard 15s, Hobie Getaways and
Waves, and a variety of kayaks, windsurfers etc etc. It's also not a bad
place to go snorkeling.

Sounds nice. Although I could *buy* a pair of new Lasers for the cost
of a week's stay. Oh well, if you have to ask...

I've been hoping a sailing resort would pop up on the Gulf coast...

There used to be one in the Keys (Rick's Place), but Rick and Mary got
out of the business. If you hear of one drop me a line.

So I take it you you don't have the Johnson 18 anymore?

Nope, it has reluctantly gone to a good home.
Right now I'm looking for
something like a Melges 24 only cheaper (and hopefully a bit less labor
intensive). Maybe one of these:

Hey, you're the high bidder. Too bad the reserve isn't met.

Wouldn't you have to pay double for the slip for one of those? That
would factor into the TCO, no?
