No question. Even though our boats are in a sheltered area (the back basin)
of the marina, our yearly hurricane plan calls for them to be moved to an
available mooring out front if possible. If not, I would leave them where
they are.
Interestingly, many people opt to have their boats hauled in the event of a
hurricane with storm surge. I have seen pictures of the marina during the
last major hurricane that hit up here (Hurricane Bob). The parking lots
where they put the hauled boats were under 4-5 feet of water. I suspect many
would float off the stands if it got much higher.
