You might get together with Doug here. He's local to you and sails all
kinds of boats. I'm sure he would be happy to show you the basics. He
needs to sail more, since he spent all his boat money on a trawler.

The best place to learn is on the boat, not in books.

Is your boat rigged and in the water? Do you have sails? Did the
previous owner show you anything?
