BTW:
I found the fishing deal of the century last night. K-Mart is blowing out
some high-end fishing equipment.

Here's what I bought:

Penn Slammer 360 for $68 (retail: $115.99)

Penn Senator R-112H (3/0) for $48.24 (retail: $89.95)

Ugly Stick Custom 1170H spinning rod (bought two of them) for $32
(retail:
79.99)

Ugly Stick Custom 1170MH conventional rod for $32 (retail 79.99)

Here's what my brother bought:

Shimano TLD-20 lever drag for $101.83 (retail $151.99)

Penn Senator R114 (6/0) for $80.40 (retail $126.95)

Penn 9500SS for $85.76 (retail $149.99)

They have an Penn International 20T for $230.48. I have two lever drag
two-speed 20 lb. class Penn Formula 10KG's so I didn't need it. But
retail
on that reel is $389.88!!! I'm thinking about buying it to list on e-bay.
Most of them on E-bay are going for $315+ for used reels.

Woo! I'm gonna check that, myself. Problem is.... up to now, I've
never found any high end items at any box store in NC.....

...still, its worth a try....

Here's the downside:
It took me 15 minutes to get someone to open the display case so I could see
the reel. The guy they sent over barely spoke any English. I told him I
wanted to buy it, and it took him another 15 minutes for him to find
somebody who knew how to ring it up at the clearance price.

I guess that's why they had to sell the reels at a "clearance" price.
Nobody would go through that crap to pay full retail.

Wal-Mart did the same thing several years ago. I got a Penn 7500SS for $75
and a Fin-Nor rod for $25. Since then, Wal-Mart carries some of the smaller
Penn Spinfishers at full retail, and a couple of the smaller Senators...but
none of the really good stuff...and none of it discounted very much

I guess they figured that carrying the really high-end stuff and charging
full retail for it doesn't fly in a "Mart-type" atmosphere.

Good luck with your search.
