That kind of weight on your kayak deck will negatively affect
you trim. You'd have to carry some dead weight in the other
end to balance it out. As well, having that weight on top
of the kayak will reduce the stability.

I can tell you that the size, weight and breed of a dog will
be a lot less important than its temperment and personality.
Some dogs will sit still for a ride; others will always be
jumping onto the water and trying to get back on.

I know folks that have no problem with their dog in a canoe
and others that have nothing but problems and leave the dog
at home. Expect to have to train your dog to behave on the
kayak.
